Our home care companions are compassionate, caring and fully aware of the special needs of the elderly and physically challenged. Each home care companion receives ongoing training and is carefully instructed on the support and special requirements of each individual and family. Once assigned to a client, each companion is briefed on client health history, interests and hobbies, dietary needs and preferences, etc. We develop and customize a care plan with you, factoring in individual skills and strengths of our caregivers, and provide these recommendations to them.
H&Z Home Care takes security and safety very seriously, so we take on the responsibility of employing and managing our caregivers.
Each caregiver is:
- Our W-2 employee
- Bonded and insured
- Experienced
- Dependable
- Screened through a national criminal background check
- Sex Offender
- Traffic Convictions
- Social Security Verification
- Skip Traces
- Tuberculosis (TB) tested
- Offered ongoing training
- Managed with performance assessments
You and your family are encouraged to stay involved every step of the way during your loved one’s care. We never make a decision for you and will notify you if there is any change in their condition at anytime. We keep you informed through the whole process through care logs and active communication. You can also call or email us anytime about your loved one’s care. Due to HIPPA guidelines, some information regarding our clients must be kept confidential.
Background and References Checks
Safety is our first priority and that’s why each highly skilled team member is thoroughly screened. Each applicant has had a comprehensive background check and is bonded, insured and monitored on an ongoing basis to ensure the highest quality care and companionship.
We ensure each companion has the proper documentation to work legally in the United States and has a clean criminal history. We also personally call references, which are previous clients, and speak to them and family members to get a better understanding of how each companion worked for them.
Professional Training
Every caregiver has had formal training such as Personal Support Worker (PSW), Health Care Aid (HCA), etc. We require at least one year of verifiable experience working with mature adults. Each team member is qualified in First Aid and CPR, and must undergo ongoing training and development in a diversity of programs. This insures that each companion has a high level of competency.
We also have a number of bilingual caregivers for diversity.
Caregiver Assignment
We want to pair you with the right caregiver so once H&Z Home Care assesses your home or facility, we carefully review your needs, experiences and interests and choose a qualified caregiver. Our care manager periodically visits or calls the client for supervision, support and assessment of the quality of care given.
